In preparation for its highly anticipated release, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has confirmed Gato as the latest playable character for the game. Developed by SNK, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves marks the return of one of the world’s oldest popular fighting game franchises. The series began in 1991 with Fatal Fury: King of the Fighters.
In 2022, SNK announced that a sequel to Fatal Fury was in development, which created tremendous excitement among old fans. After almost 26 years, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will mark the return of the franchise and is set to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on April 24, 2025. The fighting game will continue the story of 1999’s Garou: Mark of the Wolves. In recent months, several fighters like Kim Dong Hwan and Mai Shiranui have been announced as part of the roster of the upcoming Fatal Fury game.
In the recently released trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Gato has been announced as the newest member of the game’s growing roster of fighters. From fast attacks to dramatic finishers, the trailer shows off the martial artist’s various moves that he will bring to the game. Voiced by Corey Yee, Gato can be seen in the video wearing a traditional-looking black robe and dark green pants, which is in line with previous versions of the character. His addition to the City of the Wolves lineup makes him another martial artist in the new Fatal Fury besides Hotaru Futaba.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Announces New Member to Roster
Gato has made a grand entry into the lineup of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and a special trailer for the game has been released for him. This returning Fatal Fury character, who first made his appearance in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, is shown as a vengeful warrior who fights his enemies with his eyes closed to sharpen his other senses and moves. Interestingly, Gato has made multiple appearances in SNK’s Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters franchises.
In addition to including fan-favorite characters in the new Fatal Fury game, SNK recently worked on an unexpected collaboration. This recent team-up saw a famous footballer make an appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The game’s launch is still some time away, so it will be interesting to see what other characters the Japanese studio announces for the 2025 fighting game.
